From Fear to Fun

In the summer of 2007, Chris and Sarah took a trip out to Nelson to visit Chris’ mom. A little East of Nelson is a little artist town named Crawford Bay. We spent some time looking around the galleries, and Sarah discovered a particular affinity for a painting by artist Ted Wallace, titled “From Fear to Fun.”

Chris started emailing people. It was an expensive piece that he was not going to be able to afford himself, so he put out the call to all of Sarah’s friends who he could contact and asked if they’d like to contribute. Sarah’s friends and family came together, and after a few emails with the Wallaces, From Fear to Fun made it’s way to Vancouver in time for Sarah’s 26th birthday. There was a party, and the contributors wrote cards, stories, letters, etc., and they were compiled into a binder to mark the occasion.

Today, From Fear to Fun hangs on a wall in Sarah’s mom’s house (because it’s too easy for the silverfish in our apartment to take up residence in the paintings on the wall).
